Contoured Bodice Dress

For this project, I was tasked with designing and constructing a contoured look. I started by gathering inspiration and creating a mood board with sketches, which helped me refine my design concept. Using personal slopers I’d created in a previous class, I drafted new patterns and made mockups to test the fit, making adjustments as needed to ensure a perfect silhouette. After finalizing the patterns, I constructed a corset and placed it on a dress form to begin draping the fabric. This was my first time draping, and although it was challenging, the process taught me a lot about fabric manipulation and fit, and I grew both technically and creatively through the experience.
